An Evening

There is a small village near Meikhtila. My family tree came from that village. It was a beautiful evening when my family went there to arrange a donation. I was able to capture this scene from the monastery while running chores for the donation.

Phaung Taw Oo

I was born in Meikhtilar, a big and busy town in Upper Myanmar. It's situated near Mandalay. There are quite a lot of interesting spots in my home town. Phaung Taw Oo is one of them. It's a monastery situated on the bank of Meikhtilar Lake. Nowadays, I am getting busy in other city for my life. However I went back and visited there once a year. I took this shot during my last trip. The golden artwork in this picture stands out against the blue sky. The eye-catching, big bird is also very attractive.

Crowded Wood Carvings

I saw a lot of wood carvings in Shwe Kyaung. Very detailed, very beautiful wood carvings show the standard of Myanma Art and Culture. There are full of small carvings in this pictures.

Old Wood Carving

I found this scene in Shwe Kyaung in Mandalay. Myanmar's art of wood carving is very old. The walls and the doors in this monastery have a lot of wood carvings. The statue is very old and some very detailed parts are broken. However you can still see what it has meant to be. It is old but still beautiful.

Antiques on display

The dealer showcase his bronzes and other antiques very nicely. The two bronzes in the middle attract my attention. Very bright statues, called "Lawkanat", are standing out of of the crowd. This shop is just in front of the Shwe Kyaung in Mandalay.
